Sunday morning we woke up and headed to church on foot. The boys did spectacularly well with the long trek in the rain. We were lucky that this was the only day we were blessed with moisture. It was awe inspiring as we turned the corner of the street where church was to run into the Athens marathon runners. We even saw a few kids. We were fortunate to hear from an area authority while we were there. Because of our visitors, we enjoyed the meeting entirely in English.
After sacrament meeting we bade farewell to the missionaries and our new found friends and walked across the street to Hadrian's Arch. Bruce wanted to capture our visit to church in Athens. It was fascinating to him to see and feel the difference on the street with the graffiti, then walk inside and be hit with the Spirit.
The rain cleared up for us and we enjoyed walking through the ruins across the street from church. This is Hadrian's arch.

I've got the whole world in my hand!
Look how strong I am mom!
Eating dinner at one of the many cafes
My favorite thing of the day was visiting the New Acropolis Museum. I could have spent the whole day here. I was in heaven viewing all the artwork. Unfortunately, no pictures could be taken inside, so I had to just be content with the camera in my head. These pictures are of the enterance of the museum where you walk across the top of the digging site.
After subjecting the boys to the absolute torture of the museum, we rewarded them with some yummy ice cream. Gideon was in heaven that we temporarily took him off the dairy-free diet.
While we were enjoying our ice cream, another Greek came up to see the sight of our blond boys. Lincoln would not look or talk to the nice lady. He became very suspicious of people walking up to him and touching him. The Greeks are so friendly!
Dinner was pizza on the bed. What more could anyone want?
Games anyone? This was a great way to end a wonderful day!
