Christmas letter and photo

I am amazed that this time of year is here again! 2011 has brought many great experiences, both fun and challenging. We took vacations to Park City and San Diego, enjoyed 2 family weddings, and got the biggest surprise when we found out we were pregnant after 2 years of waiting! We also jumped into the world of organized sports, piano lessons, and house projects galore. Life is crazy and busy, but we still make the time to count our many blessings from our Heavenly Father.

My wonderful husband enjoys running his own business and he balances it well with home and Elders Quorum responsibilities. He has expanded his talents this year by installing our irrigation and drip systems, blowing in attic insulation, and painting our beige walls (because he loves me, not because he wants to). Bruce is an amazing, loving, and supportive husband and father and will be a great Dad to our little girl, even though he says he won’t know what to do with her. He’ll learn quickly!

I have 3 energetic boys and am pregnant. Enough said. I love watching each of them as they grow physically and spiritually. I am the taxi driver, the cook, the tutor, and their ultimate helping hand, even when Bruce is standing right next to me. In addition, I love being in the Primary Presidency in our small branch. In my spare time, I like to make jewelry as gifts for others. Currently though, my time is spent in making our house feel like a home for our family. All of these things bring me great happiness and joy.

Allen, 10, is incredibly talented and intelligent. He started piano recently and has quite a repertoire for only 1 month. He loves scouts and is excited to cross over to Webelos. He excels in school and is blessed with a teacher who challenges him even though he is ahead of most of the other students in his class. Allen loves to read and loves to recite random facts from his books. He is showing his growing character and responsible nature more and more every day.

Gideon, 7, is blessed this year in school with a great teacher who shows him that school is actually a fun place to be. He gets excited after a good day and exclaims, “Mom! I didn’t get in trouble today!” But don’t let that fool you about his intelligence level! Gideon also started piano and finds excitement in developing that new skill. He looks forward to next year for his baptism in September and is already planning the purpose for his first fasting experience.

Lincoln, 4, is my great pal and super helper at home. He is in a co-op preschool for 2 days a week, which he anticipates with joy. He loves learning and absorbs information like a sponge. His favorite subjects now are three letter words and two digit numbers. He is also looking forward to his birthday so he can finally start kindergarten. Lincoln loves babies and will be an excellent big brother. He frequently asks me, “Can I rub your baby?” translating to “Can I rub your tummy?”

We are very grateful for this time of year to reconnect with all of you and for your love and friendship. May the Lord bless each of you during this coming New Year. Merry Christmas!
