Our kids have been looking forward to going to Lagoon ever since we stepped foot back on U.S. soil. So we as their parents devised a way for them to earn it. Everyday they get the opportunity to earn marbles as they take care of their morning responsibilities, obey when we ask them to do things, do nice things without being asked, etc. Then the marbles they earn buy their things out of the Mommy Store. They end up there when the boys don't clean up after themselves. After the Mommy Store is empty, then the extra marbles can be poured into the family jar. When they filled the family jar, their reward was to go to Lagoon. It took a lot of effort, but they finally made it.
Their cousin Aubrey came to go on rides with them and also so that we adults could get away and have some fun too. Her brother Andrew came along for the fun. We also had their Aunt Becky and their Aunt Emilee come too. We also met our great friends the Greenbergs there. WE have known each other since Allen and their son Zach were tiny babies. Then we were pregnant with our 2nd children together too. Sammie is the girl I never had.
In the beginning, we took pictures of the kiddie rides, then the camera became cumbersome and it got demoted to the car. The rest of the pictures are in our memories. Allen couldn't wait to go on Wicked. Gideon got off of The Spider and the only thing he could say was "That was awesome." I think they had a great time. We ate a yummy lunch which we brought, then spent some time at Lagoona Beach. My time was spent mostly in the kiddie pool, but Bruce got some fun time on the slides with the boys. After the water fun, we went on as many rides as the heat could tolerate, then ended the day on Rattlesnake Rapids where we got drenched! Poor Becky was so flushed. She doesn't do well in the heat, but glad to say she survived the hot day. While we dried, we let the kids enjoy bumper cars, then Bruce took Allen and Andrew on Jet star while I got to go on the much calmer Flying aces with Gideon and Lincoln. Dinner was at Inn and Our Burger. YUM. We had a great family fun filled day.
