On the way home...

We inherited 2 kids and an adult.  On our way out of town we dropped John off at the airport, then hit a sacrament meeting before we started our long ride home. The 2 extra kids were our nephew Caleb, and his half sister Haylee. We stopped in St. George and stayed with our good friends the Toolsons.  They were senior missionaries in Germany while we were there.  Bruce as dying to drive through Zion's for a more scenic ride home, so that is what we did. 

We only ran into one problem:  Gideon got car sick.  Luckily he started to not feel well before we entered the park, so we were able to stop by a store to get some Dramamine.

Bruce really enjoyed being the passenger and getting the luxury of watching the scenery as we drove by.  He took a ton of pictures, which will never see the blog, but I am glad that he enjoyed himself.  We would like to get back down there and actually spend some time hiking and playing around. 

You can't see it well, but we were amazed at how cheap gas was outside of Parachute.  Even in California we only saw a handful of stations with prices the exact same Parachute when we drove out of town.  CRAZY.

Gideon slept most of the way home.  Poor little guy.  WE made it in one piece.  WE had Haylee and Caleb at the house for 3 days and loved it.  WE went swimming, watched movies, hunted for golf balls.  Caleb, being 12, was bored often.  I asked him what 12 year old do in their spare time.  He said video games (we don't have any gaming system), jumping on the tramp (ours isn't in yet), and going to amusement parks (in Parachute?  No way.).  I made him mow the lawn instead.  I think he and his sister did just fine.  They are welcome here any time.
